Singing for China and filling the world with love!
On International Women’s Day, S3UK director Adrian caught up with top Chinese opera singer Jane Maria, whose is on a mission to promote Chinese commerce and culture in the UK. Jane Maria, a celebrated Chinese soprano master opera singer whose work is a blend of Chinese-Western influences, studied at the UK’s Royal Northern College of Music.
A winner of the Global Outstanding Chinese Artist award, in recent years Jane Maria has devoted herself to promote Chinese culture and trade around the world, and has been awarded the title of International Cultural Ambassador by many institutions, including by her home province of Henan (popn 100 million) in China.
Jane Maria is a good friend of S3UK’s director Adrian Pryce, visiting him on more than one occasion to build links between the county of Northamptonshire and Henan – they a joint ambition to curate a concert with Jane Maria and a Northants opera singer to be performed in both the UK and China.
Jane, an associate of S3UK, will be helping S3UK develop closer commercial as well as cultural links between China and the UK.
