Expansion of the sourcing activities to India and South East Asia

Historically, S3 Group has always been very connected to the People’s Republic of China for the majority of its activities.

Yes, for both the export and consulting service range, the company maintains strong links with Latin America and Africa.

And yes, equally for sourcing, export and consulting, a variety of projects have been developed over the years with partners in Vietnam, Taiwan and other Asian countries.

But without doubt, the bulk of S3’s activity has always been focused on China.

For a number of strategic reasons, the company felt this is the right time, partially due to the Covid-19 pandemic, to give a major push forward to expanding the scope of S3’s sourcing activities towards several new markets.

In India, S3 Group signed an exclusive agreement with VERKA SOURCING, a well-established firm in the sourcing industry, specialized in some highly relevant market segments, including one of the most demanding ones, namely the car components sector.

VERKA, with offices near New Delhi, promises to be the ideal partner for S3 in the context of this strategic plan to focus on additional, new sourcing markets.

We welcome VERKA’s CEO, Shiv Charan, and his team to the S3 family and we trust that this agreement will be the basis for a long and successful collaboration.

Also in South East Asia, S3 has made a firm move forward, with the incorporation of Salahuddin Noordin, as part of the sourcing team.

Our regular readers surely remember that Salah started his first steps in the sourcing industry, as an intern in the company, after having successfully completed our ‘Global Sourcing and Logistics’ course. Having shown his value during the internship, it was decided to hire him and put him in charge of both the sourcing activities as well as business development projects in South East Asia, where he will cover markets like Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, etc.

Salah’s case is in effect relevant from a double perspective, since his double nationality (Moroccan/Malay) allows us to foresee also interesting developments in the North African and Middle Eastern markets.
