On behalf of a major Catalan gym and fitness centre, the sourcing team in China carried out last month an extensive factory audit at a supplier of specialised equipment for this sports activity.
A factory audit consists of several phases in which the inspector carries out a set of checks, generally focusing on the following aspects:
- Human resources: level of preparation, experience, training, etc.
- Industrial resources: machinery, installations, etc.
- Quality resources: quality systems, certifications, homologations, etc.
- Other relevant data, depending on the case: ownership, financial resources, etc.
