As our readers will recall, last year we were invited by the local branch of the Friends of UNESCO in Sant Cugat to give a talk on the geopolitical rivalry between the US and China.
And at the time, we expressed our suspicion that this would not be our last collaboration…
And so it was.

Just before this edition went to press, we returned to the National Archive of Catalonia, located in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona.
On this occasion (and at the organisers’ request), we remained within the geopolitical sphere, but with a slightly different focus: the geo-economic rivalry between the European Union and China.

It was once again an enjoyable and interesting experience, with an attentive, engaged audience that was clearly aware of the challenges Europe is currently facing.
In short, the EU still has time to regain the initiative (against China, amongst others, but not exclusively), but the matter is undoubtedly of the utmost urgency.
The train is already about to leave the station…
