The Association of Economists of Catalonia recently organised (and invited S3 to take part in) the first Annual Summit on Economic Cooperation between Catalonia and China.
It was a formal, well-organised event featuring a first-class line-up of speakers and participants in the various round-table discussions.
On this occasion, the focus was largely institutional, with speeches by the authorities and the diplomatic corps, but there was also time set aside for businesses, several of which came to outline their (often very long) track records in the Asian giant.
And, as expected, it was also an excellent opportunity to meet businesspeople and executives we are familiar with who have extensive experience in China.
Let’s hope that next year the Association of Economists organises the second edition of this Summit with the same ambition and professionalism.
