As already indicated in the introduction to this S3 Newsletter, the chapter on ‘new initiatives in the world of business teaching’ is this time entirely dominated by Latin America.
The two trips to Mexico and Brazil were mainly motivated by a number of academic initiatives that are very new for S3, as we will explain below.

In Mexico, during the month of July, we participated as professors in the International Summer of the prestigious Universidad Panamericana – Campus Aguascalientes.
For two weeks we taught a course on trends in global trade to a group of highly motivated undergraduate students.
The International Summer programme is distinguished by the participation of more than 15 professors, mainly from Europe and Latin America, who offer their respective courses in the faculties of Law, Engineering and Business.
Universidad Panamericana is a prestigious institution, with campuses in Mexico City (2), Guadalajara and Aguascalientes.
We look forward to repeating this fabulous experience next year!

Last but not least, during our stay we also gave a seminar for the UP Graduate School and were interviewed by the Mexican TV channel QuieroTV – an intense programme!

At the end of August, we moved to Brazil, this time for two (albeit shorter) academic collaborations.
The first one took place at Univali – Universidade do Vale de Itajaí in the state of Santa Catarina. We already had a long connection with Univali, although always online, but this time the classes were – at last – face-to-face!
We gave a double masterclass on ‘Sustainable Sourcing in Asia’ for the students of the Executive MBA programme.

It was also a very comprehensive visit, as we were interviewed on university radio and had meetings with various departments, including the local PEIEX team, in charge of supporting local companies in internationalisation processes.
Finally, we visited the PUCPR – Pontífica Universidade Católica de Paraná, located in Curitiba, capital of the state of Paraná.
The collaboration is the result of the university’s excellent relationship with IQS School of Management in Barcelona, with which we have been cooperating for half a decade.
We gave a session on business with China for students of various programmes.

We would like to remind our readers that they can find much more information about the activities of Consultancy and Training.
