Due to their own scale and organisational characteristics, it is not common for large multinationals to contact S3 for the management of sourcing projects (or other related activities) in China, as they usually have the necessary internal resources to implement these initiatives directly, without the help of consultants and/or intermediaries.

But there are exceptions. When a complex situation requires a discreet and professional external partner to manage a specific intervention in China, S3 can undoubtedly be the perfect partner.
Through the commercial management of our collaborator Manuela Matzeu (see previous Newsletter), a few months ago we started an interesting project in which we were entrusted with the management of an intense programme of production supervision and quality inspections in China.
The activities were efficiently coordinated with the local teams and partners of Johnson Controls – Hitachi in China and the customer itself in Europe.
Due to the nature of the project and the confidentiality agreement involved, we cannot give many details, but the broad outline is the verification of a set of components for VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) equipment in which JCI-Hitachi is a world leader.
