Recently, the first collaboration seminar took place between the Industrial Association of Navarra (AIN) and the Spanish Association of Purchasing Managers (AERCE), of which S3 Group is a member.
During this event we gave the keynote lecture, exposing the options that (Spanish, European, Western) companies have in working with suppliers closer to home, compared to the usual manufacturers in low-cost countries in Asia.
This phenomenon, known as ‘reshoring’ (if it involves working again with suppliers in the buyer's home country) or ‘nearshoring’ (if it is with nearby countries), has great appeal because it is simpler - at first glance at least - but it still involves a significante number of major challenges.
