Despite S3 Group’s increasingly reduced academic activity over the past year, there have been a surprisingly high number of collaborations this past quarter.

Firstly, we would like to highlight the guest lectures given at the University of Texas at El Paso, in the US, on the turbulence in the world of SCM. Talking about China, tariffs, etc. on an American campus was truly an interesting experience!

This was not our first contact with UTEP, as we gave a seminar three years ago in Barcelona to a group of students from their MBA programme during their visit to Europe.

The link was very good and the result was this visit last October.

We also returned (virtually, at least) to the Belgian university of PXL, based in Hasselt, Limburg.

Just like last year, we were asked to prepare a webinar for the students selected for the academic mission to China in 2026.

It was once again an enjoyable experience, with lots of questions, queries and debate.
They’ll have a great trip!

Back in Barcelona, we repeated last year’s guest presentation at the ESEI International Business School, this time at its new campus in the uptown area of the city.

We focused on a very timely topic, specifically China’s rise as a technological powerhouse, with its leadership not only in electric vehicles and the renewable energy sector, but also with its constant advances in AI developments.

We return in a way to the US with a presentation at Barcelona SAE, a university campus specialized in exchange programmes – including in Europe – for American students.

Speaking about China again, this time the focus was broader, although the debate quickly turned once more to the technological race between the US and the Asian giant.

A very symbolic and enjoyable return was the guest lecture given at the Barcelona campus of the Swiss Geneva Business School.

After seven years of collaboration at GBS, it was an exciting return, once again focused on China and, this time, its geopolitical role in today’s complex world.

With so much activity as guest speaker, we almost forgot about our farewell at the IQS School of Management, part of the highly recognized Universidad Ramon Llull.

In our eighth year of academic collaboration, we taught the Geopolitics course, for the last time, to students enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, after having also taught courses on International Trade and B2B Commercial Management in previous years.

An edition marked by no less than four external speakers, focusing respectively on the US, geopolitics in space, South Africa and COP30, many topics of interest were analysed before a highly motivated and extremely international group of students.
